Call in for Cancer
ComSource's team will be answering phones for the annual Upstate Cancer Center "Call-In for Cancer" radiothon on October 1st. The event will run from 5 AM to 6 PM in partnership with iHeartMedia and B104.7 - callers are encouraged to share stories of hope and encouragement while raising money for Upstate's Center Center patients and research.
Construction & Medical Mission
ComSource sponsored our Systems Engineer Joshua Carroll and his church on their mission trip to the Dominican Republic. Joshua served on the construction team, working alongside a team of Haitian and Dominican builders to construct a new church for Pastor Jessie Vasquez, who is lovingly called “the Mother Theresa of her neighborhood”. Vineyard doctors and nurses provided much-needed medications to Dominican medical facilities and treated hundreds of patients in Neyba, San Cristobal, San José de los Llanos.
Tribute Evening 2019
This year marked the 43rd annual Crouse Heal Tribute Evening, honoring Mary & Jerry Mathews, at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center at the Oncenter in Syracuse celebrated by ComSource employees and friends.
Swing Fore Life 2019
Co-Founded by Kevin Hanlon and Robert Hanlon, the Exon20 Group funds research to turn this rare type of lung cancer into a manageable chronic disease, expediting Exon 20 targeted drugs into clinical trials.Every year, ComSource helps support the Exon20 group by sponsoring the annual Swing Fore Life golf tournament and fundraiser. This year, the event was hosted at the beautiful Green Lakes State Park and had a record attendance.
Fairway to Heaven Gold Tournament
On September 16th, ComSource sponsored the Fairway to Heaven Golf Tournament, once again held at the Cavalry Club in Manlius, NY. This tournament is held in support of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities, a congregation of 400+ women devoted to education and religious education, health care, care of the elderly, dying and homeless, social services, retreat, and prayer ministry and much more.
Pan-Mass Challenge
ComSource aggressively supports cancer-related causes, and there is no better example of that than our annual participation in the Pan-Mass Challenge. ComSource's late CEO, Kevin Hanlon participated in the 192-mile ride every year, from the tip of Cape Cod back into the state of Massachusetts. To date, his team has raised close to $200,000 in sponsorship of the breast cancer and the Thoracic Oncology research funds.
20th Annual Golf Invitational
In June 2019 the ComSource team made the trip to Pinehurst, NC to participate in the 20th annual Coaches vs Cancer Golf Invitational and Circle of Honor Dinner in support of the American Cancer Society and St. Baldricks Foundation. This year's event raised over $1.5 million to support pediatric cancer research through their partnership with St. Baldrick’s Foundation
12th Annual Golf Classic
The Jim & Juli Boeheim Foundation is dedicated to enriching the lives of children in need in the Central New York community, and supports the fight against cancer through research and advocacy. ComSource participated in their annual golf tournament, held at the Atunyote Golf Club at Turning Stone Resort & Casino in our continued support of the Foundation and its beneficiaries.
Sean McDonough Celebrity Golf Classic
Every year, ESPN's Sean McDonough hosts a two-day celebrity event to support cardiac amyloidosis research at Brigham and Women's Hospital in memory of his late father who died suddenly of the disease in 2003. On September 16th, 2019 the ComSource team traveled out to the Boston Golf Club to play in the tournament and represent the Syracuse-area at the SU alum's event.
